Area: Research
Movers
See which companies and industries gained and lagged over a day, a week, a month or up to a year. Industries are weighted by market cap, the way an index is, so you can see where money is moving.
Area: Research
Indexes
The S&P 500 and its sectors, the Nasdaq-100, the Dow, the Russell 2000 and the whole market, each followed through the fund that tracks it. Every fund shows its prices and every company it holds, from its own Form N-PORT.
Area: Search
Search finds a company by any name its filings use
A company’s registered name is no longer the only way to find it. “GE Aerospace” finds GE, which the SEC still lists as General Electric.
Area: Company pages
Price charts start on a linear scale
A fall now looks as large as it was. For long ranges, switch to the log scale in the chart’s legend, where equal heights mean equal percentage moves.
Area: Company pages
Disclosures, a fourth statement
Company pages now show figures from the notes to the financial statements, beside the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow. Among them are a bank’s capital ratios, an insurer’s statutory capital and the value of an energy company’s proved reserves.
Area: Data
Fewer gaps where a company uses its own terms
When a company reports a figure under a label of its own, Thaler now reads it once the label has been checked against the filing, so periods that were blank have figures. Among the first are JPMorgan’s CET1 ratio, NextEra’s depreciation and Nvidia’s capital spending from 2021 to 2023.
Area: Mail
A clearer morning mail
The morning mail says how long today’s brief runs and describes each filing in plain words, with results first. It reads better on a phone, and one click turns it off.
